When it comes to the Middle East Oman is the only place you want to go fishing, and once you’ve fished Oman you may never want to fish anywhere else. Oman is one of those rare places that are fairly accessible yet still relatively unexplored when it comes the world of sports fishing.

I short Oman has some of the most amazing fishing you will ever experience in your life, not only by the number and variety of fish that it’s possible to catch but the sheer size of the fish is phenomenal and monster GTs in particular.

Giant Trevally are the main reason for sports anglers to venture to Oman. The fishery in Southern Oman, near Al-Hallaniyah Islands, is possibly the best spot on the globe to target 50kg plus GT. Most anglers would consider catching a GT of 50kg a once in a lifetime dream come true but down here they catch them on almost a weekly bases with the really big fish tipping the scales about 70kgs.

Fishing Charters

When it comes to game fishing charters there are really only two worth considering if you’re intention is to target the monster GT.

Noboundaries is a fishing lodge based in Ash Shuwaymiyyah, a small fishing village in South Oman. From the launch site you either head out to the Hallaniyat islands to target monster Giant Trevally, Amber Jack, Tuna, Billfish and others or you head up the coast to fish inshore along the cliffs and ledges the form part of this incredible coast line for amazing light tackle fishing targeting a huge variety of species such as Queen fish, various Trevally, Blue fish, Bream, Snapper and many more.

With regards to the fishing they’re a professional outfit with lovely boats and experienced and helpful captains. They fish these waters almost every day and know where the fish are feeding and what lures are working.

The accommodation is adequate and comfortable but not a 5-star lodge by any means. The lodge is made for fisherman and more than sufficient for that purpose but don’t entertain any ideas of bringing the family along for holiday while you’re out fishing each day. There’s not much to do or see in the town beside fish.
